About Us

We Believe

Pharmacists are healthcare providers.

Pharmacists are healthcare providers who play a vital role in improving patient outcomes by ensuring safe and effective medication use. They work in a variety of healthcare settings such as hospitals, community pharmacies, and long-term care facilities, where they collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide patient-centered care.

Patients have more favorable outcomes when a pharmacist is included on their health care team.

Research has shown that patients who receive care from a healthcare team that includes a pharmacist have better health outcomes, including fewer hospitalizations and lower healthcare costs. Pharmacists are uniquely qualified to ensure that patients receive the most appropriate medications and to help patients manage any medication-related issues.

Independent pharmacies are a valuable resource in the communities they serve.

Independent pharmacies are often locally owned and operated, providing personalized care to the communities they serve. In addition, they often offer a wider variety of services and products than larger chain pharmacies, catering to the unique needs of their customers.

All patients deserve to have a personal relationship with their pharmacist as a member of their healthcare team.

Our Vision

Our History

In 1985, a group of independent pharmacies in Kansas came together, searching for a way to purchase more competitively, particularly their generic medications. This led to the creation of the Kansas Pharmacy Service Corporation (KPSC). From the beginning, our organization has always strived to support independent pharmacies in a variety of ways that aid them in the care of their patients.

KPSC continued to grow and evolve over time and in 2018 we rebranded with the name Currus, which represents our continual forward movement representing our stores at every level. Our advocacy has always been a hallmark of what we provide, and it’s something we continue to be passionate about in 2023.

Today, Currus continues to advocate for our stores thanks to the support we receive from McKesson and Independent Pharmacy Cooperative.

Meet the team working for you.
